NAUT 755V - Ship Construction and Stability Level 5 (SCS 5)

Course Description

This is a course designed to provide ship’s Masters with the knowledge and skill required to safely and efficiently manage the stress and stability of a vessel in both intact and damaged conditions. Topics include; design and construction of various types of vessels, welding techniques, stress of materials, stability calculations for intact and damaged vessel with emphasis on practical skills; use of a ship’s stability booklet, perform calculations related to ship’s drafts, trim, list and initial stability.

Transport Canada approved formula sheet is now available to SCS4 and 5 students at the time of the exams at Camosun College

$4,450.00 or $500.00 deposit

Section Notes

A non-refundable, non-transferable $500 registration deposit is now an option for Nautical courses. The remaining tuition is due thirty (30) calendar days prior to the start date of the course. If the course is dropped the deposit will not be refunded or transferred.

If a course is paid in full at the time of registration and dropped prior to one week before the start date a full refund is available. To drop a course paid in full please contact prosit@camosun.ca.
