Course Description

Your organization's financial health depends on finding and keeping good employees. Hiring well is only part of the job. You have to keep your employees happy and productive. This workshop reveals what the best managed organizations do in the early stages to find and keep good people.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, learners will be better able to:

  • Explain the importance of hiring right the first time;
  • Understand the most common hiring mistakes and how to prevent them;
  • Identify human rights related questions they can and cannot ask;
  • Identify hiring challenges;
  • Describe the importance of hiring for skills, knowledge, and competencies;
  • Recognize and create core competencies to meet organizational needs;
  • Set the stage for productive, relaxed interviews;
  • Conduct effective interviews through behaviour-based interviewing;
  • Conduct reference checks that work; and
  • Be more confident in making hiring decisions
