Course Description

This course uses the Insurance Institutes (GIE C81, C82 & BC Auto Supplement) materials, and provides the training required by the Insurance Council of BC for anyone wanting to obtain a Level 1 Salesperson or Independent Adjuster - Level 1 License.  Once the education portion is completed, the successful candidate is required to have the sponsorship (employment) of a licensed insurance agency or licensed independent adjusting firm in order to obtain a Level 1 licence from the Insurance Council of BC. Successful exam completion results are considered valid for one year from exam completion date.  Applicants waiting longer than one year to obtain a license will be required to rewrite the exam.

Notes

IIBC membership, administration and exam costs are included in the course price. Students purchase course manuals (approx. $325) from the Interurban bookstore.

Successful graduates of this program will be awarded a Certificate of Completion from the Insurance Institute of BC. In addition, the successful candidate will be eligible to apply for an equivalency credit in the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation program of the Insurance Institute of Canada, for the C11: Principles and Practices of Insurance* course. (*Please note the C11 course on its own does not meet licensing requirements).
