This Transport Canada Block Credit Approved course is designed to advance the fundamental meteorological theory by interpreting the synoptic weather charts, understanding the characteristics of the Tropical Revolving Storm (TRS) and understanding the ocean current systems as well as formation of sea and swell waves.

Required for the following certificates of competencies:

  • Chief Mate
  • Watchkeeping Mate, Near Coastal
  • Master 500 Gross Tonnage, Near Coastal
  • Fishing Master, Class 3
