Film at Camosun College

Join BC’s $3-billion-dollar film and television industry and make your mark on Hollywood North.

Business is booming in Victoria’s film and television industry. Productions filming across Victoria and the Capital Regional District – Deadpool, Maid, Scary Movie and Gracepoint, to name just a few – have found an unsurpassed filming location right here on the South Island. It’s no wonder that direct spending in Victoria from film productions has jumped exponentially in the past ten years: from $7 million in 2012, to $12 million in 2016, to $55 million in 2020.

To contribute to this growing industry. Camosun College is committed to the creation of the Centre for Film Production and Digital Media. This facility, slated for development at Camosun’s Interurban Campus, will combine training programs with multiple sound stages, ready to provide jobs for hundreds of graduates trained on site.

Ready to take your first step towards a career in film and television? Camosun ProSIT’s Microcredential: Film Production Assistant is open for registration. This three-weekend course will introduce you to the skills, certifications, and industry contacts you need to start work as a Production Assistant – the most common point of entry into the film and television industry. To find out more and register, click here!
