FILM 312V - Working with Textured Hair for Film Micro-credential
Course Description
This 21-hour Micro-Credential provides an opportunity for learners to explore hair types; work hands-on with products and processes specific to textured hair; understand protective hairstyles; explore natural and heat/chemically straightened hairstyles; and practice common film techniques, like styling for continuity and the use of hair extensions, in a textured-hair-specific environment. This Micro-Credential focuses on working in the Film industry, while the content also applies to hair stylists across many industries. This Micro-Credential opens access for Red Seal hairdressers to flexible careers in the Film and Television industry, with a specific focus on textured hair.
Learner Outcomes

Learn the basic fundamentals of textured hair including using specific products, conducting consultations, and understanding client needs

Prerequisites
This course is suitable for any individual who holds a current Red Seal Hairstylist Certification, a Certificate of Qualifications from the Beauty Council of Western Canada or a British Columbia Hair License.
