An introduction to the skills required to work in the Building Service Custodial field. Includes theory and practical demonstration of techniques. This course has been recently updated to be in alignment with other programs offered on Vancouver Island, ensuring that graduates of this program will have their qualifications accepted by any Vancouver Island employer.

Upon completion, participants will receive a Confirmation of Attendance.

Learner Outcomes

Topics include;

  • Safe Work practices;
  • Tools & equipment;
  • Dry/wet cleaning procedures;
  • Chemistry of cleaning; 
  • Green cleaning;
  • Specific cleaning for: carpets, hard floors, glass, stairways, walls, washrooms, food prep areas, etc.;
  • Antiviral cleaning.  

Notes

Appropriate footwear (non-slip, closed toe) is required; CSA approved safety footwear recommended, but optional.
