Course Description

The industrial marine sector refits and repairs steel ships. Ventilation is required to protect welders, painters and others working in and on these ships. As shipyards expand to handle larger ships the challenge of providing good ventilation throughout a ship requires new skills and equipment. This course will provide appropriate training for the ventilation crew.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, learners will have:

  • covered the basics of industrial exhaust system design and control of confined space hazards
  • instruction on the specifics of exhaust system design and testing for welding and painting
  • hands on training on air flow measurement, air pressure measurement and system troubleshooting
