Course Description

For Masters, Navigating Officers, & Bridge Watch Keepers. Focus is on the practical skills required to ensure the safety of the ship, its personnel and cargo, and the protection of the environment. Topics include Bridge Resource Management (BRM) concepts; error chain and situational awareness; bridge organization, leadership, and teamwork; Pilot and crew relationship; passage planning, execution, and recording; effective communication skills; and emergency preparedness.

Prerequisites

Certificate of Competency and sea experience.

BRING TO CLASS: Your Candidate Document Number (CDN), a copy of your Certificate of Competency, and government-issued photo ID to present to instructor.

Tuition non-credit $2,600.00 or $500.00 deposit

Section Notes

A non-refundable, non-transferable $500 registration deposit is now an option for Nautical courses. The remaining tuition is due thirty (30) calendar days prior to the start date of the course. If the course is dropped the deposit will not be refunded or transferred.  

If a course is paid in full at the time of registration and dropped prior to one week before the start date a full refund is available. To drop a course paid in full please contact prosit@camosun.ca.
