Course Description
Business analysis is applied in a variety of situations and levels within an organization. In this course, students will explore five of the most common variants of business analysis: Agile Business Analysis, Information Technology analysis (IT), Business Architecture, Business Intelligence analysis (BI), and Business Process Management (BPM). This course will also introduce specialized techniques, methods, required competencies and the role of the business analyst in each of these focus areas. Although each perspective has its own skill set, a broad knowledge of business analysis is essential when applied to each of these variants.Learner Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course a student will be able to:
- describe the key characteristics of each of the business analysis perspectives described in the BABOK® Guide v3: information technology, agile business, business process management, business intelligence, and business architecture
- identify specialized techniques, methods, required competencies, and the role of the business analyst for each perspective
- tailor the business analysis work in the context of each of the business analysis perspectives
